Three bows, all skinned

I have been flintknapping a lot lately and needed to get back into bow making. All these bows are 45-50# and somewhere around 57 in ttt.   The first is Osage with copperhead skins. The next with the fur is a wheel barrow handle, deflex reflex( not on purpose)  I had it bending to much in handle. I even popped a splinter but repaired it with flax and sinew.  The third bow is Ashe Juniper, 48# and like 1 in wide at the most.  no sinew.  it has a ELB crosssection only because thats what i needed to do to get weight up. Started with a twisty sliver. One portion of the top limb turns 35 degrees from flat. thats why it looks stiff in top limb.   I know the tiller is not great on these three just getting back into it.  Southern Copperhead.  Oh on the top limb of last bow i spliced 3 really torn up road kills together to make the match.   Ashe Juniper (hill country cedar) is my second favorite wood in texas, other than Osage >:D.  It is light and tention strong.  Its very different than ERC.  I have made 4 bows from it and does not take much to make a hunting weight bow.

That osage has some cool character. The hickory has a nice deflex profile, even if it wasn't intentional it looks like it worked for ya.
I really like that color on the belly of the cedar in the third bow and you made those skin splices invisible to detect, nice work on those. I've been to that beautiful hill country of Texas before and those cedars sure are plentiful there, I bet most landowners don't mind letting you take a few.

Love the looks of those skins......
My daughter lives near hill country.....will have to check into that wood next visit...

Thanks everybody for your compliments.Greg ihave 1000 acres of the stuff. The only problem is  this wood is that it likes to twist when growing. So it is hard to finds straight piece. There ain't  a farmer out there that won't let you cut some.
