Steam bending tempered wood?

Hi all i'm getting there with a new yew bow but I'm unhappy with the side profile of one of the tips. I steamed a bit of recurve into both tips then tempered the bends with a heat gun. One end has a much more pronounced bend then the other so I want to repeat the process on the straighter tip. Is it ok to try and steam and bend the wood given that its been toasted to a dark brown colour? Thanks  :)

Sure, go for it. Use dry heat again if you want to.

  Yeah, I would do as Pearl says.  Get it gently back in the form and go with dry heat.   Tempered wood is a little more vulnerable (less flexible) but small changes can still be made.
