Nicholson #49 and #50

Can someone please post some detailed pictures of a Nicholson #49 and #50?  I'm looking for pictures of the tooth pattern and logo.  Thanks.

I was looking for the old made in the USA models.  I'm not sure if they look the same or not.

Seems they want your first male child for them. :P :P
Just check garage sales, and flea markets, you will find them.  And you will still have beer and gas money left over. ;)

I use the Nicholson Dean Torges modell with #49 on one side #50 on the other, flat on both sides. It has a handle on both sides. I own several great rasps and thisone beats them all. Best control thanks to the two handles; you pull and not push it. Worth any  penny!!!

If you are interested, Woodcraft has a 10% off sale on rasps and shintos.
I bought a Nicholson wood rasp for $34.00.
This was a wood rasp made in Brazil, I think it is an ok rasp for the price. The  49 and 50 are also made in Brazil and are more expensive.

I gave my 49 away. It clogged too easy with osage for me.

The original USA made were very nice.  The Brazil versions clog too fast.  Teeth look the same, not sure why but they're not as good.  I gave my Brazil away also.

After about 150 bows I sent my #49 and 50 to Boggs tools for sharpening, they came back as sharp as new.

There was a guy selling new old stock American made 49 and 50s for $20 shipped on ebay about a year ago, he had a bunch of them. I only bought one of them and I should have bought them all.

I have heard you can send a Brazilian made 49 or 50 to Boggs and it comes back like an American made one.

Here is a USA made #50 and USA #49 next to a Brazil #49. Biggest difference I notice is the Brazil versions seem to clog up quicker especially if the wood has a higher moisture content.

$8.50 for a 49 or 50, they did have a policy for new customers where they sharpened one for free.

They sharpen your files and send them back with a bill, trusting folk.
