is it even worth it to sinew back hackberry? ive been contemplating trying it but I want to know if anyone here has backed hackberry with sinew

Depends on the bow.  I made a short hackberry a couple of years ago and decided to back it with sinew - worked great.  I shot a nice 4x4 whitetail with it in November - complete pass through.  I'm making another one now but a recurve and intend to back it with sinew too.

  I think sinew backed hackberry would be a great combo, hackberry is under rated. Good bow wood if you make them wide enough.

If you make the bow short enough to challenge the sinew and you nail the tiller, you will be happy.
