About two years ago Chris D (The Bad Chris) gave me one of the billets for this bow at the Marshall MI shoot. A few months later I got the other billet that I had originally intended for a different project from Chris K (The Good Chris). Awhile later I dreamed up the idea of making this bow. They were both osage billets but, they each had a much different appearance. One had a yellow appearance with your typical medium growth rings. The other was more orange in appearance and had huge late growth rings 1/4" thick. They both had a side bend so I took that into consideration when laying out the splice. Luckily most of the bend was taken out with heat correction. The splice is a 4" W-splice with two 3/8" oak dowel pins. The bow is 66" ttt and hold 2-1/2" of reflex. The overlays are water buffalo horn that I bought from the pet store. I have not put it on the scale but I estimate it to be low 50's at 27". I was originally worried that the two different billets may give bad shooting characteristics but, it shoots really nice and has a very smooth draw.
