NEEDED / new guys to join the 2016 PA bow trade
« on: January 24, 2016, 04:47:17 pm »
I would like to see any of you newer PA members who would like to join us for a great trade please sign up. Got a great bunch signed up already so there will be plenty of help if you want or need it.

This trade is all about making a commitment, doing the best you can do, and above all have a good learning experience and meet some of us regular guys. If you wanted to join in and weren't really sure here's your chance....if you are willing to make a commitment and do the best you can then welcome to ya......lets do this thing.

I hear ya.....no ya dont have to be a "pro" (whatever that is), ya dont have to have a bunch of experience.....but if you seriously want to join in....then please do so. Plenty of friendly people.

Maybe at some point there ought to be a worldwide mini-bow trade to keep post costs do-able.
I love it when a plan B comes together....

Cadet, I spent less than 30 bucks last year on my bow trade. I'm in Missouri, if your accross the pond, maybe there could be a fund raiser to help you out.

Very well said Rich. That's what the standard Primitive Archer Bow Trades have been all about. Looking forward to seeing some excited new bowyers join in. What a chance for everyone, to learn...and teach.

I'd like to give it a try. I only have about 5 bows under my  belt but I think I could make a decent one.

Victoria, SE Australia; I tend to play with longbows; getting a 6' bow safely and reasonably from here to there would be a fair effort!

Yes, please do come and join us!

I know there are lots of really good looking wooden staves being posted right now by people in that exchange, but don't let that scare you away if you've never made a selfbow (or sinew backed bow) before.  I can't speak for the others, and I certainly can't speak for myself when it comes to making bows, but like all things in life, we all started off without much knowledge of anything.  However, if you take the time and effort to make something you're comfortable with and can make it good, I'm sure the more experienced guys in the trade will appreciate the effort you put into your bow!
