This was my second attempt at making a belt buckle, which turned out 10x better than my first. It started out as a piece of 1/4" mild steel round bar, which I heated and pounded flat, then I added a few twists. I found some 1/8" brass rod lying around and used it to pin the center section. I will post some finished pictures as soon as I get some leather cut out for the belt. I'm thinking that dyeing the leather black would look good against the steel.

Aw man, I like that a lot. The only thing I would prefer, would be if the tongue was flattened as it is around the pivot, but was a smaller diameter and hammered round where it goes thru the holes in the belt.

In fact, I wanna go out and find some leather to make a new belt for my 1770's kit if I could wrangle one of those buckles from you!

Pretty slick man. It has a trapping theme to it. Like a little foot hold, maybe a size 1/2
