plum bow design
« on: January 24, 2016, 08:26:20 am »
Hi everyone. Recently I cut a good plum stave that is 50 inches long. The thick ends diameter is 2 inches wile the other on is 1.5 inches. I have never worked with plum and I don't know what kind of design to use. Please help me. Sketches of the design would be more helpful than words if possible.

Also I would like to add that some say plum checks badly. Is it enough to coat the ends and leave the bark on or do I have to do anything else

Never worked plum before and 50" is short.i would go for a bend though the handle reflex/deflex.about 25" max draw and draw weight of 50 max.opinion may vary though
Some like motorboats,I like kayaks, some like guns,I like bows, but not the wheelie type.
