Elm Takedown 58@26"
« on: January 23, 2016, 04:47:16 pm »
Hi everyone, havent been as active building bows for the last while. Been busy having a pretty dismal deer season.  Just got this one finished up.  64"  ntn,  58#@26.  A set of nice elm billets from PatM.  I was originally shooting it at 63# and after it broke a bunch of my arrows since I didn't have anything with a stiff enough spine, I realized I didn't want a bow that heavy. Haha.  Hoping it settles around 55#.  Both the billets started out with some reflex, the bottom one more so.  Also heat treated the limbs.

How wide are the limbs and what inside diameter is the handle tube?

Really nice bow.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
Asharrow, the limbs are around 2" wide,  maybe creeping up on 2.25 around the fades.  Not sure what the inside diameter of the tube is, but it's the smaller diameter takedown tube from 3 rivers. Its around 1.25" wide on the outside.
