Thanks for your nice compliments! It was really fun to make this one. It took a bit long time, but was worth the long run - it turned out as a super smooth draw and fast bow.

Oh wow...speechless....absolutely love it all.  What kind of handle wrap do you have there sir?

It is stingray leather with paint inbetween the bone pearls

This a great job!
But why did you sinew back it? If limbs are such wide, I would never back a bow made of such an excellent osage stave, any backing will decrease its performance.
Michael
It is  outstanding in every way.

Michael, the overdraw relative to length makes the sinew worth its weight. You probably won't be drawing many 53 inch selfbows 28 inches too many times.

Thanks for answering Pat, exact the reason!

That bow is ridiculous!

Did you process the stingray leather yourself or buy it / trade for it already tanned?

Geez Simon, opening a thread of yours when you're posting a new bow has become such a treat.  Your work and skills are most inspiring.  Thanks for sharing and being a part of PA.

Man Simon your talent is in a league of its own. Every detail you put into that bow looks great and works perfectly as a compliment to every other detail in the bow. As a whole it all pulls together to make a beautiful work of art and function.
I'll be coming back to view this one often. :)
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

Simply amazing once again Simon.  I really like everything about this one, the tiller, the paint, the handle, every aspect.

patM, anyway the backing the amount of bending is the same!

The same bow drawing the same weight at 26" or 25" would perform much better without any backing.
Maybe we should open another topic: selfbow- overdraw?

Wish such bows could be drawn to 33"... or can they? Don't try! But I would really love one like this at my draw length... ..
I really like it, the painting and everything

With sufficiently heavy arrows, this would perform better than without a backing
