David, Gordon's build along is a really great help at this stage of a stave bow. There are others, too. It's just the one I remember most easily:

I use a ruler and measure down from back 1/2 down and mark it all The way down from the end of the fades to the tips every 1/2 " then I connect the dots (both sides) your doing a good job David. Main thing be patient and take your time. I'm still making mistakes do to getting in a hurry!

Mr. Ewing,
Here is how I start the limb thinning....I do it this way so everything stays even and gives a nice bend. By repeating this you can go from very heavy to just right and usually will have no stiff spots or hinges in the bends.
At 1-1/2" wide I would start by making a 1/2" line down from the back....and on all 4 sides of the limbs.....I use the "finger guide" method shown in pics 1 and 2.....then draw a centerline (rather more like sketch it in) now rasp from the edge lines into the centerline untill you have a "peak" running down the belly. You can now check the floor tiller to get a sense of how strong the bow is.....if it's too strong then rasp down the peak to flat limbs and check again.......if still too heavy then start over by making new side lines and starting all over......when you are close go to the scraper and work the belly into a shallow oval to flat profile....several pics from diff angles to illustrate the sidewalls and ridge.
If I screwed up on the explanation please let me know....see if I can clear it up.

I like the centerline, even bevel and using the round off to check stiffness ideas, Rich. I'm going to use those.

Trimmed the stave down and now trying the get the bark off. Last time it popped off, but not this time. Black birch bark is thick and hard.....I really need to make myself a shaving horse at some point..

Fellas,
Here is the quiver I made as a give-away for members of this trade. It is all done (note: the thunderbird and underwater panther need to have their pupils and thunder and lightening bolts painted in.....) The strap is twisted raw-hide, the stiffening rod is tied in with raw-hide. The underwater panther is painted on a "medallion" which is sewed to the quiver. The hide is a very old fawn hide and is quite thin, and while usable will have to have careful handling....or at least not rough-handling.
