Yeah Dave, I like the idea of wrapping something around the bow to make a ridge/bump under the leather. Anything should work good for that, a string, a leather thong, wet some small rattan and wrap it etc.

Well, here it is. Not the prettiest, but it seems to shoot pretty good. I really like it, and I hope my victim does too.

Full draw pic sucks. I had to set the camera on a wall, which is why it's looking up at the bow/me.

get a wooden golf tee and cut it/sand it in half.  Nice little rest and it's already shaped for the most part!

Get a 3" PVC pipe cut to length + 4" and 2 ea PVC caps. Glue a cap on one end and stuff packing to fill the bottom. Wrap the bow with clear plastic or bubble wrap and reinforce both tips with added protection. Place it in the tube and then add extra packing to the top end before putting on the top cap. Then instead of gluing the top cap just fit it tight and wrap the end with packing or duct tape to hold it in place.
