I agree.  You need to work on the inner 1/3 David.

Without seeing it bend both inner limbs look stiff at brace Dave.

Well, here is my Plan C dogwood w/walnut handle lamination, after heat treat and tillered to length.  This one is ready for final sanding & finish work.  The full draw photo isn't the greatest, kind of hard to take a steady picture with one hand while pulling the bow with the other, with one eye watching the camera and one eye watching the draw length :)  From looking at the pictures, I think I was too close to the bow with the camera, and slightly off center, but hopefully you get the idea.

My Plan B dogwood w/cherry handle is currently on the steam pot on the stove to flip the tips a little.  Plan B get tips flipped tonight and then I am going to heat treat it, thin the tips somewhat and hopefully done.

I went out and shot about 70 arrows through the Plan C.  The handle is still rough, that is, not yet shaped, but it shoots nicely.  The weight would be on the low side of my recipient, but I am going to keep going and see how it finishes out  My Plan B is getting tips flipped, and should finish closer to target weight.

Is the right limb the bottom limb?  Looks a little stiff midlimb out.  See if somebody can get a picture of you drawing the bow.  I use my self timer on my phone to take my own full draw pics.  Its not too hard to do.

Ajooter, in the previous pics, the right limb is the bottom.  I got my wife to help and she snapped a better photo.  Here is full draw in the hand.

Loope, if that bow feels smooth during the draw.....leave it be 8)  Personally, I think it looks real good and if it pulls smooth call it good and quit nit-pickin sir >:D

Thanks for the comments guys, I guess it is on to finish work on this one!

In the meantime, I got the tips flipped some on the Plan B bow.  I will probably have some tillering to do after flipping the tips.  And then will heat treat.  I have a question, I was planning to adjust tiller after flipping the tips, then heat treat, then adjust tiller.  Is this what you guys do, or would you heat treat directly after flipping the tips?

Also, I got one limb heat treated on my Plan D white oak.  Here is a picture in the caul.  I will do the other limb tomorrow maybe start some of the finishing on the Plan C I just posted.

I took a break from building after my last 2 bows came out less than acceptable IMO. Seems I'd found myself in a slump and had other things to finish up around here. I finally got back to bow work and have a couple on the long string. Will be posting pics for advice on tiller soon.

Bows look like they're getting done. Anyone sent theirs yet?
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.
