The TBB also mentions using temporary sinew wraps while over flexing highly reflexed staves until they are broken in. You'd have to use something other than sinew because of the heat but wrapping in spectra line might work to hold it together.

JA, I say stick the end of that sucker in a boiling pot for an hour and then clamp and bend the snot out o it. If it breaks just remember, I am often not right  ::)

Well, this wasn't supposed to be any more than a quick photo to check tiller at partial draw with this week's Meare Heath bow. But it's one of the few recent pics of me at all. The bow was tillered more, shot 25 arrows through it just short of full draw, and while final tillering it broke just at full draw and 52 lbs. So it's also the only pic of the bow intact and working, too.

I love it when a plan B comes together....

jandersson, can you post a pic of the belly side from the knot to the tip? And DuBois might have the right idea with that boiling water. It may also make it easier to clean out any rot in that crevice but I still would like to see the belly profile.

Mitch, no problem. We should have names by tomorrow evening.

I'm pretty excited about this years trade!!

I know I already said that I wasn't going to be involved in the trade but  if you guys will have me I'd sure like to join in. Take a vote and let me know what you think.

Thank you all very very much.

Here's me my wife and the kiddos last week when we got our first snow. It was gone by the end of the day. Today was a nice 60 degrees.

Waiting on a few more replies. I've had 1 back out. Is 28-30 big enough or do you guys want more?

Great family pic TR.

Fred - I guess its ok you want to be in and make a bow.     I would love to get a bow from "Munson Creek"!  I vote your in.

Here is a pic of my ugly mug in my small shop "tinkering" around - which I do almost every evening.

I also ran out to the storage garage and snapped a few photos of my stash of some staves - all dry and ready to go as soon as I bring one in and warm it up!

Nice looking bow too PlanB - to bad she broke!

60º in Oklahoma!  We just broke the freezing mark for the first time in quite a while - nice family picture!

DuBois - I kinda like the first pic - but I am a dog guy.

I probably had just cleaned it before that pic.     I was helping a youngster make his first bow - a hackberry pyramid.  We had to take a few pics.

If not too late, would love to get in.

29 to 31"
Right hand
50-60 pound
any style

I am going out to sort through some staves that I have had drying, looking through some red bud, hickory, or white oak.  Will pick out a couple good ones and post some pics.
