Roughed in the handle for starters...it's pretty comfy....needs some more polishing.  Wanted to do the tips as well but my gluing surfaces are quite tight enough yet.  Hopefully get to them tomorrow.

I gotta get to bed before the Easter bunny gets here....otherwise there will be rabbit stew  >:D

That is looking good there ajooter. It looks quite similar to one I just finished a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately the black locust broke after about 500 arrows. Here is a couple of pictures of the handle and tips.

Comparing it to other trilams to me it looks pretty good. A word of warning though, after being on vacay in AZ for a couple of weeks I was very excited about getting back to the bows and I underestimated the sensitivity of the outer half of the limbs on my trilam. I "forgot" I tapered the corelam and very quickly turned the target # from like 50 to 30 or so. Just giving you a heads up.

The way the string nocks were cut this nock ended up at the top of the tip after I shaped the overlay materials.   I'm not sure I like where it is.  I put about 20 shots through it....it shoots great!!  I was going to heat treat both limbs but the set that the bow has taken is minimal.  I just have to include the picture of the stave when I first roughed it out so my guy knows this.

You guys think this nock is safe?  If it is ill clean it right up.

     I dont do tip overlays at all .....but I would load that baby up and shoot it....for that is worth to ya

Thanks rich....she shoots really good.  I like the way this bow came out!  Gonna get her good and shot in and get her all sealed up and off to my guy!

Got a couple more accessories to add that I may save for my guy to see.  Always nice to be surprised!

If it was mine I would move the nock point down about 3/4" so it would be more on the meat of the bow instead of the very end. But that will make your bow 1 1/2 in shorter. Maybe somebody with more knowledge will chime in and see what they have to say

JIMHO.......I started out putting thick overlays on...see the first pic below.  Then I started thinking that overlays were to protect the back of the bow from the string cutting through and that the tips should be light as far as mass is concern.  Then I started putting less material on (second pic) to keep the weight down and I use a hard overlay material to protect the back.......
Therefore, next time use thinner material and you will have a functional overlay.  IMO... :)
