I did some more work on my plan b black locust.  It is 56 inches tip to tip.  Here it is at full draw.  It is right at 50 pounds at 28 inches.  I put about 50 shots through it so far.  This is my shortest bow I have ever made.  I really like shooting this one.

I have another bow I have been working on.  This one is white ash.  I haven't had the best luck with white ash, but this one shoots hard.  It is the last stave from the very first tree I harvested for staves.  It pulls 52 pounds at 28 inches.  I would like feedback on the tiller.  It has a little string follow but not too bad (at least for white ash).  I don't think this is in the running for my trade bow but thought I would show all of you another one I have been working on.

Ajooter, the locust does shoot hard.  I really like it too.  It feels like there is hardly any wood, it is so light.

One of these bows is going to a co-worker of mine and another for the trade. I can always use another too.

Thanks Rich...The tips are just hickory overlays, I had such trouble with the one tip I glued a small piece to the side it was tracking off of and now it lines up perfect.. will do some better pics and full draws soon-Hammertime

That's getting it done hammer!  I've been busy at work lately and haven't been able to get after it like I would like to.

All 3 of those bows look great Hammer.

I spent today shooting the 3 bows I have tillerred out.  I enjoy shooting all of them but my plan a black locust seems to be the one.  There is just one issue with this bow I don't like.  There is a drying check that ended up in one fade.  I saw it before I ever started on the bow bu I thought it would disappear as I remove wood.  The check is only cosmetic but it does not make me happy.  I would like opinions from people on here how they would feel about receiving a bow with this check on it.

just about every bow I have made has a check in it somewhere.  it seems like just a part of self bows.  put superglue in it and don't think any more about it.  If that is otherwise the best bow, send it.  It won't bother me when it gets here.

That check is in the back correct?  I don't think it will amount to much...it does favor the one side of the handle a little bit...you could always rawhide back it if you wanted to.  Ultimately most likely just cosmetic....and unique...which makes these bows so cool.  8)
