 8) Well I'll tell you this much!!!! My recipient hasn't participated much lately and if they don't finish a bow to send out then this one will go to someone else.   >:D
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

Fred - if you need me to drive over and pick up my bow just let me know!     You have a nice bend on it for sure.

Swamp - no new advice needed from me, you already got all you need - it is looking great.

Jeff - those heads look really good to me!

Haven't worked on bows nor been shooting for the past week!  Between fighting off a cold and school it just hasn't happened.
Enjoy the hunt!  Mitch

Well... got some more weight off her and brought the lower limb around a little more.  Had a little pint knot show up on the side of the upper limb.  It's so small I'll probably just fill it with super glue.  I'm going to clean all my tool marks up and start really slowing down.  I'm gonna creep up about 2# shy of my draw weight and sand her to completion.

Then it's time to make her all Purdy!

Progress has been a bit slow of late. First I needed to dry the hawthorn beds for the riser as they were still a little green that took a week; incidentally I had transcribed my marks incorrectly the first time and the originals were 1/2" too short.... The new beds are 3 and 1/4" but the proper one will have 4" beds. After drying and cutting in new joints and shaping the new beds I found I couldn't clamp them up, the dry run clamped up fine but cascamite is really slippery and the clamps wouldn't hold. Good job it's strong and gap filling as the glue line is horrible.

Next drill and fix the brass Alan bolt receivers. Tried to do this without keying the brass and it nearly held but not quite, so now I've cut slots all over them the two part epoxy will have something to grab hold of. Will up date you all if this works on the weekend, if it doesn't I'll drill a locking key in from the side to give a mechanical advantage to the fixing. Picture shows progress and two receivers waiting for glue

Plan A Done
Black Locus
Tip overlays are wood from Africa a friend that builds wooden hats gave me. (smells like coffee when cutting)
Skins are copper heads from around the house.
Leather grip sewed on with Dacron
62" ntn
Bendy handle thanks Rich for walking me through it. 1st One
Put 2 1/2" reflex in it with a nice toasted bellys, bow held 1 1/4 of its reflex
I fumed this bow for 10 days then 10 coats of tung oil topped off with Helmsmans Satin clear spray.
50lb @ £>" can't reviel the draw.
This bow is center shot off the hand.
I've shot this bow about 50 times has a smooth Draw and seems to be pretty fast. No hand shock.
Lauren built the Dacron String she calls it Lemon-Lime.
I have had a fun and challenging time building this bow. I hope my Victom enjoys it.
