This tillering is giving me fits. When I measure the distance between the belly and the string at brace it shows that I have a 1/2" positive tiller. At brace, the top limb appears to be bending significantly more and the bottom limb seems stiff. My calipers tell me that the bottom limb is already a fair bit thinner than the top limb, so I'm hesitant to scrape more trying to even out the positive tiller measurement. When I use other methods of testing for even bend the limbs seem to be doing about the right amount of work and when I draw it out to about 22" it seems to be a decent looking tiller shape. My gut is to follow my eye when I draw by hand and my intuition about the thinner bottom limb and to ignore the measurement and appearance at brace. What are your thoughts?

I say go by the way it looks in the hand Weylin, one that I'm working on has some twist that won't come out and makes the tiller look funny one way and a lot better the other but so far it shows no set so I'll go with that. How's the set on yours

Thanks Bubby. There is a bit of twist, though I got the tips lined up straight so it shouldn't mess with the recurves. Though I do think it throws off the perception of the tiller a bit. It's hard to tell on the set, I've done so much tweaking with heat that it's hard to say what is natural or not. I don't think it's really taken much if any, though. I put a little deflex coming out of the handle but it didn't seem to take. Yew can be annoying that way sometimes. I want to get everything just right with the recurves and heat corrections because I am going to rawhide back it. Can't mess around with heat once I do that.

Sounds like I have a tube at my house from Eddie.  I am up north helping my folks with some things but will be home tomorrow night. Looking forward to seeing and shooting it .  Thanks Eddie
I kind of figured it might be coming my way with your comment about the guy liking Asia

Bow looks awesome Eddie.  Thanks. Just my style all the way around.  Gril feels great.  Love the copperhead skins and little tips. I'll do some shooting tomorrow.  Hope it shoots half as good as it looks. ;)

Thursday night, when I arrived at the Classic, I received this gorgeous bow from Stringman.  Scott, I cannot tell you how honored I am to receive such a beautiful, good shooting bow.  I plan to shoot the heck out of this thing and hang it with pride when it is not strung. Thanks again buddy.

Cool bow A-a-ron and Scott. I knew that one was going your way months ago :)

A few pictures of the bow Eddie sent me.  Got out shooting today some.  Bow shoots an arrow with authority and is quiet in the hand.  I never saw on the thread what kind of wood it is Eddie but I'm thinking it must be osage?  The cool red dye makes it a little hard for me to tell for sure.

Love the skins.

I like the grip and he small tips are awesome.

Thanks again Eddie.

Glad it shoots good for you Randy and it's made for hunting. And you are right, it is some Tenn. Osage.

Thank you, Leroy.
