What a coincident, Got home this afternoon and had a long tube waiting for me, along with a, "cheer me up" note from PaulSemp, since I couldn't make the Classic. Paul, it did, thank you very much. He sent me the bow that Gordon made for the 2013 Bow Trade that I was drooling over when Pearlie Boy had it. I always wanted to see one of Gordon's bows in person and really wanted it when I saw the 28-30" draw. I always feel like I'm short drawing at 28". This bow is a dream to shoot, very smooth, and fast and I can feel it flexing in the handle at my Full Draw, just how I like it.

One of the finest bows I've received in trades. Thank you, again.

You are welcome. I didn't deserve it to begin with but gordon wanted me to keep it instead of sending it back. Sadly it's been collecting more dust than shooting for the last 3 years so im glad it fits your specs. It deserves to get shot and I hope Gordon doesn't mind me passing it along.

Well, I can tell you, it will be shot. I'll 3-D shoot it next weekend. I thought it was Vine maple but just scrolled through 118 pages to find it on the 2013 Bow Trade.I hope you don't mind either, Gordon.

I'm futzing with the string alignment on my recurve. Can't seem to get it just right. I've got it on the steamer pot again. Hopefully this is the last time.

Weylin, how do you tweak your hooks?
I've done lots of experimenting with recurve alignment, I mostly use dry heat

luckily the hooks are good. I haven't had to mess with them and I agree, dry heat would be the way to go for that. The string is just not down the center of the handle so I've been steaming the handle area and bending it to the side a bit. I would have got it licked a while ago but I pulled a bonehead move and cranked it the wrong way last time so it was waaay off.  I think I got it right, this time.

I had it marked with a pencil. Clearly that wasn't enough to catch my attention as I was clamping it down. I've got it all lined up nice now, though. The wife and kids are out of town tomorrow so I'm planning on making some big progress on the tiller.

I got some work in on the two I'm building, one is farther along than the other and needs to stretch out a few more inches
