Super nice work pappy and pearl drums!I have my plan a bow sitting in storage and started two more.both elm,one is very thin ringed at 28 per inch and quite stiff.i put the word out to my icefishing buddies to hook me up with a mariah/burbot so I can try the skins.my buddy caught a 39"/17lbs last week but he is going to mount it.caught in lake winnipeg.

Congratulations Gordon! That is a fine bow Chris crafted for you.

I have been busy wrapping up several bows, but with four in the final stretch, I can start knifing away on some wood I have set aside for my recipient. He is a tough one, as he makes some truly stunning bows that really push the limits.  Candidate staves include a vine maple with some very well placed side profile character, a pair of yew heartwood billets with paper thin rings possibly getting backed with _______, and shortish osage stave with very nice rings if all else fails.

That yew heart sounds like a winner especially from your hands!


Nice draw Gordon. I'll have to check it out sense I've never seen Chris's work up close and personal :D
