I'm flip flopping like a flounder out of water. So my question to my guy is: Do you want an osage self static? Or, a 3 piece TD with self osage limbs?

Know what I'd want . . .. . . . . . .  ???
... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857

Both...

Seriously though, if it were for me, I would take the static. Tough choice though

I'll take the three piece please.  I swear you're starting to think it's not a self bow.  >:D

Static please, ;) I got nocks cut on mine and on the long string this week, I am on hold right now, kind of strange the wood was cut in 2002 and roughed out a few years later, so dry and seasoned it is. I noticed yesterday just some slight drying checks around the handle area where I had come down to fresh wood. So I sealed all exposed areas and going to wait a few day for the weather to damping up a bit, it is dry as it gets in TN. right now. This wood has been in the rafters over my bench for years. Strange. :)

Still looking for the right stave for my victim, removed bark and chased rings on 4 osage staves in the past week only to find flaws in the way of building what I want. Funny how osage can look somewhat promising with the bark still on and be so flawed underneath sometimes. I have plenty more staves so the search will go on.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

Make an three piece with osage static limbs! Crisis averted! ;)

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Chris, I'd lean toward the 3 piece. I've seen your magic on selfbows and obviously that wouldn't be a bad choice, but I think you should try to finish this T/D and if you're not satisfied then go back to the static.

Pretty much what Scott said.  I'd be plumb tickled with whatever came out of your efforts.  I'm sort of undecided as well.  I will finish out the yew takedown and I also have a character ridden humpy lumpy roller coaster yew stave that I'll be starting on as another option.  Whichever comes out the best will go to my victim.  Josh

Likewise, trucker. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be gorgeous and shoot just as gorgeous.
