Here's the most recent commission. A gentleman originally came to me looking for a bow for himself , but then decided he'd give one to his daughter for Christmas instead. After meeting with her and getting a feel for what she would like and the specs for her bow, the inspiration started to come together.
Lilac ,#26@26" . Antler nocks. Mother of pearl strike plate . Water buffalo horn with mother of pearl inlays for the wing which acts as the shelf. Black molded leather grip toped with filigreed burgundy leather stitched over. The dragons painted on the limbs all but disappear when not viewed from 90 deg. . The eyes of the dragons on the limbs are knots in the stave that I carved to give dimension to the painting . The bottom limb had a severe dogleg which I was able to correct with heat , but it does give it a peculiar looking tiller . with over 300 shots through it ,it hasn't budged a bit and only took about 1/2" set. I believe the slight deflex in the handle and the light heat treating helped in this regard quite a bit. She named it " Freedom" which was Painted on the belly in Greek text .
