Josh, just to let you know, I sit on a short step stool. It's only about 14" tall. This is how I can get by with the short 4x4 block. I guess I could get a taller block.

I've tried to do it with a normal chair height and it feels like I'm leaning over way too much.

Like Patrick said, once you get results from indirect it's hard to switch back.

i can actually do something with it now.








i was also able to finally knap this flake with the crystals on the edge:

will try to thin this one more after i dress my tools:







i may attempt to indirectly hook into some of those steps. i couldn't get good flake travel on this piece.

i got a new tine at the pet supply store.



knapped this bull flake that had a thick cortex. there was a small hole on the cortex and this is what was revealed.





a little on the hefty side, but i quit while i was ahead.
