Me, too, Pappy. If the bow is super short I might try to crowd it together a bit, but a 1" fadeout is REALLY steep and abrupt.
Remember, though, that at the overlap of the side flares and the fades, the bow only needs to be marginally thicker. I'm usually happy with 3/16", which means that as long as the limb thickness extends past the flare and there is some thickness where they cross, the fade can start dipping from the handle a LITTLE early.
