Has anyone tried TAArrowSpeed? It's an app for laptops that measures the time between the sound of the bow and the smack of the arrow hitting the target. You input the distance and it gives you FPS. All you need is a laptop with a mike. The app is free. I found this just after I ordered a Chrono for my Christmas present.

It must be similar to baseball speed aps. ???
Why do you think it is specific to laptops?? ???
Oh because you can take them to the range easier. >:D

It said on the site I was on that it's only for laptops. I can't see why it couldn't be made to work on smart phones but what do I know about smart phones--nuthin'

You can get phone apps that are similar. I doubt any of them work as well as a proper crono though. It'd be interesting to try, you'd probably get a fair amount of false start/stop triggers. I wonder if they correct for audio delay at all. I assume it'd also be an average FTS too which would be lower that the at/near release a crono would give you.
