Your definitely not on one ring there. I wouldn't try anything further until getting that back cleaned up and sides squared.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

Can't really see myself about your violation of ring but does it have a heck of a twist to it?It's doable like what's been said but it'll challenge ya for sure.
Pappy's the expert here on that one.

What should you do?
You should make a bow!
My site may help.

http://traditionalarchery101.com/

Clamp a sash cord, or similar, tip to tip to see where the string lays in the handle area.
Don't be too quick to cut it to length and 64" is plenty for your draw length.
Chase a ring.
Cut to length.
Floor tiller.
Layout bow following the lateral grain that runs tip to tip. You will see it.
Measure on either side of the line to get the width. Your stave is narrow so you could possible skip this step.
Straighten as needed. Dry heat will work for a dry stave.
Long string tiller.
Tiller.
Check my site.

If you ain't breakin' you ain't makin!

yes make a bow,, if that curvy tip is getting to thin, cut the bow to 60ish and make a bendy handle,, I see a nice bow in there :)

I ended up with a beautiful s shaped center shot black locust bow because someone here asked me a simple question 'who says the string HAS to be centered on the handle'. point is, don't be afraid to think out of the box!

Thanks guys. I'm sure I will have more questions about this build. I appreciate the help. I'm going to do some heat bending this evening.

Yep looking better, you can do wonders with heat and Osage, just take your time and if takes several tweaking that's fine. Jawges pretty much run down the list to follow. Keep us posted. ;) I like you choice of beer also  ;) :D I have worked for them for 34 years. ;)

First you take out the propeller and see where you are at. With that much propeller you may get some stress cracks taking it out.

Yeah...that looks too thick to be trying to make heat corrections....get it floor tillered first next time...and then build your self a form/caul. You can fix everything all at once and induce a lil reflex while your at it...its waaaaay easier than trying to jimmy rig like what you showed, and then having to heat it up multiple times...... me.. id rather kill 4 birds with one stone

Well guys I got to a point fixing little issues with this bow that I called it good, put a handle wrap on it and hunted with it this morning. Some areas were really close to where it was split and really narrow not to mention all the ups/downs, snake and a big knot hole. I was getting close to going under weight and I want to finish deer season with a selfbow.
