Do my dimensions seem sound for a yew sinew.

Ok, so I've settled on crafting a sinew backed yew flatbow/paddlebow. The stave is 56 inches long, so 55 inches nock to nock. Really want to hit 27 inch draw.

I've kind of had to freestyle the dimensions here.

1 inch up, 2 1/2 down for the handle. 25mm across.
Fades last 1 inch and go from handle to 35mm width, and then taper down to around 20mm at the tips.

Add a few layers of sinew and eyeball the depth and alter during tiller.

How does this sound?

Sinew it regardless.  Personally, I would remove the sap wood but not everyone does.  Yea, heat some reflex into it, apply sinew, give it a good several weeks of drying or more and just realize it will be a long term project that you don't want to lose patience on and it should meet your specs.
