Rawhide Backed Red Oak

This 68" bow came out a bit light but it's a sweet shooter

Finished with Tung oil and Carnuba paste wax






































I shot this bow a bunch the past couple days and it's giving no sign of the Power lam lifting,....I'm going out now to make a little video of shooting this bow.

Why you're not using Guava as a bowwood as you had done it in the past?
It seems to be a very good bowwood...

The bottom limb looks like it bending too much at mid limb and really stiff on the outer third. The top limb look just fine.

I see that too on the pictures,
I can't see it at brace, I see no extra set or stress marks when unbraced and the bow shoots really nice.

I'm definitely out of practice and I'll keep monitoring this bow to see if there'll be any changes in the future,....still want to take a video shooting it, just been busy doing other stuff  ;D

That tiller is probably dead nutz Manny. One pic looks killer and one is a fuzz off. The un-braced pic tells the real story. If that bottom limb was what we see it would have taken at least an extra inch of set, it hasn't.

I think it's just the chainlink pattern fooling with the image. Heck, that first braced picture I thought "How the heck is the string crooked in the middle?!" before I realized I was looking at the top pipe of the fence, not the string, lol.

A trick I learned in art classes was to squint at a picture and the details would stand out.

Take a few more pics with the bow vertical and a bit more perfectly from the side.  A canted bow at a less than optimal angle is bit trickier to judge.
