 John, here is a picture of the blade I was thinning last nite, I have noticed when thinning with copper if I get behind by this I mean pc is getting narrow faster than thin I can get aggressive and take deeper flakes and catch up and get thin, On this pc I knew I was getting behind an just could not catch up using antler, maybe with the  antler I need to get aware quicker or deep thinning flakes. Not sure if this makes sense to you about being behind It is just a kinda feeling that i have for the end results, Anyways had fun trying to get this one thin and used just antler with just alittle touch up with the tine for presssure. Just thru the tape on it and not quite as thick as I thought 4 to 1 will work for now. Oh just had to try and fix a little spot on last pass Yep nice step on a pretty clean pc

John, it's about 9" long, was just watching some video's and I would say one of my problems is abraiding to strong and using grinding  wheels. Somebody said brush an the light came on. Pic is up on first post

what do you mean?

i lightly abrade with my smooth quartz hammer stone. not sure if it does exactly what it's supposed to do, but it knocks the sharp edges down so my platforms don't fail as easily.

leon, I am a copper knapper and i was grinding the crap out of my platforms with a coarse carburudum abraider, platforms way to strong, somebody suggested to just brush Bob
