I am using indirect percussion (rocker punch) with some finish pressure flakes using an antler tipped Ishi stick and small flaker.

I like those large thinning flakes and would like to try your method.

Go down about 10 threads to "Antler Base Punch Technique". It's the method I am learning and have better control and flakes than anything else I have used. Use the isolated platforms where you want to really thin.

Nice work there, certainly not "Learning Phase B" type stuff.

So far I like the shaft punch thing and will continue along that path.  Maybe next summer at House Mountain we can compare notes.
