Need help making a R/D caul
« on: November 04, 2015, 07:53:45 pm »
I would like to make a Reflex De flex caul for a selfbow with sinew backing, I'm make my 1st Osage bow now and the bows I want to make will range from 55 to 62 inch. I made a steamer out of PVC (it works awesome) the plan is to steam it and set it on the caul for a few days or so. I really need some help I don't know anything about cauls and don't know where to start. Thank you for time

I posted a picture of my new caul here http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,54625.msg742254.html#msg742254

It's in about the tenth post. The pieces on top are screwed on so they can be moved for different bows.

  • If the wood will bend, I'll make it beautiful!

Building a bow has been the most rewarding, peaceful, and frustrating things I have ever made with my own two hands!
