I was concentrating on the box and it took me a sec to see the round glass. Cool!  Oh yea, nice looking point!

Thanks fellas,
The visual nature  of what we do is the real payoff imo.
The sun is getting so low towards the horizon
that it cast long shadows. That is why I tried the box.
It raises the heigth which helps obscure the backgrouund
and casts the shadow way out of the frame.
Doing it with multi light sources like Ghost does
would provide a better image not sure about the shadow.

The box is doing double duty by having white interior walls that bounces the sunlight back towards the point making the shadows softer. I think you did a great job the one light you did have!

It's a good feeling when you can share a concept
and have it accepted by a band of folks that get it.
Not a Bostrum method but one available to us all.

Yes, good crisp photos really show the nuances
of the ridge valley symmetry we desire  ;)

I'll just post one more, to point out that this method
would work best when the sun is quite a bit higher.
One side of the point looks really clunky but it is really
just the shadow effect being amplified by the angle
of the sun.

I hope you all will post whatever you find along
these lines also.
Thanks Zuma

Nice photo and point, thanks to you and 'ghost' for all the photo tips. You may remember I tried my hand at his method on the point I won. I'll try the box method too.
