Need a good stave build along
« on: November 03, 2015, 01:32:38 am »
I am about to try my first bow from a stave of Osage. I have made several Osage board bows so have a good feel for the wood and am comforatable enough to give it a try. I saw a few videos out there but wondered if there are any in particular you guys recommend.

Boarrior bows, and Clay Hayes on YouTube have some great instructional videos for stave builds. Also check out Gordons hazelnut build along in the how to and build along section. I built my first bow using boarrior bows, Lakota style build along on YouTube.

Thanks guys! Noting in particular I need to know but want to have the steps laid out in front of me and read ahead to familiarize myself with the process before I start. I am sure I will have plenty of questions. I made a template to lay out my board bows so I dont have to do all the measurements each time. I am assuming that will not work for a stave bow. I see how some need to have crooked tips and whatnot because of the growth on a particular stave. Im sure I will have plenty more questions when I start.
