latest Osage with arrows
« on: October 30, 2015, 02:53:30 pm »
My latest creation is an Osage orange longbow.  Here are the particulars:
70" end to end
1" non bending handle
50# @ 30"
5 coats of tru oil
Diacron B-50 string
home-tanned muskrat silencers
Flat when unstrung  8)
easy on the eyes

Arrows are 125 grain spruce, with turkey vanes.  These six are nearly done.  I need to wrap the front fletch end to prevent fletch bites.

I will need a photographer to get a full draw pic.  Sorry to make you wait.

Thanks for looking.

I am really pleased with how it shoots.  It is snappy!

Patches,  many thanks on the kind words.  This bow, however, is destined for another deer stalker.  I will be out though.  My son and I will be enjoying the youth season this weekend and looking forward to some memories out in nature.

Very nice classic look. I dont see mant without tip overlays.  I like it!

Helluva nice hunting kit you've crafted there.  :)
