Winged elm
« on: October 19, 2015, 09:25:08 am »
Hello fellas...Thought I'd try to send some pics of this bow on the bow slot. Can't seem to send pics of what it harvested for me on the shooting and hunting slot.Sucks too because it's a very nice deer.A big heavy 6 point 20" accross.Exciting to say the least. It's a holmy of course 61.5 ntn.52#@28" &54# @29".Blackrat skins.Horn overlays because of the fastflight.Small very slightly raised horn dot on the strikeplate of the handle then off my knuckle to the target.Pictures are too far away really but a person can see the profile anyway.Nothing really special at all but that it came in mass weighing lighter than expected especially after heat treating the belly and shoots my 600 grain dogwoods at a respectable rate. Thanks for looking.

Nice little bow, Ed. That bottom limb could bend a bit more.

That's a probability with it being my stronger limb.Shot this one quite a bit all summer.Don't really see any set though on any paticular place. Are you saying out towards the outers on that bottom limb?

Nice work Ed, bow and critter. A 20" 6 point is impressive, no doubt about that.

Yea Pearly he came in a strutting ready fight......lol.Got stung though.....lol.I really don't think he knew what hit him.Found him 75 yards away.
Marc....Your heat treating is a common step in my bow making since I'm usually making bows out of other wood other than osage.Like those lighter limbs....lol.
