Georgetown points

The weather is getting good and I'm spending the late evenings outside, again.  This is perhaps my favorite time of year down here in SW Florida.

The last point is my first good "core" point from a nodule.  It's going in the keeper box.

The biggest thing that I've been getting the knack of is being loose with my left hand in percussion, and in flaking.  I was f'ing up with flaking and holding it too tight.

Nice points,
One of the sweetest cherts I have knapped to make large points.
It's a blast (lol) to slice and dice basketball sized noduals.
Wish I had a ton or two.

I have yet to have the pleasure of that rock. It's on my list of things to get.

You have a nice looking set of points there.

Thanks, leOn and Zuma.  It is some beautiful stuff, it doesn't take much to get a bunch of points out of one nodule, it breaks so clean.  As people say about it, though...wish it came in more colors!

I broke in to a piece of Pedernales last night for the first time and I may like it even more.  Texas rock rocks!

Good job,
I find the dark black Georgetown to be harder than the grey and have trouble working pieces with both colors in it due to the differance.
Georgetown is about the smoothest knapping material I have worked Andy makes a killer durable sharp edge.

Looks good!  I like the bone handle knife.
