Fine Tuning & Bows Build-alongs.

I have 2 hunting bows ready, both Osage, the FlatBow I recently finished and a Mollegabet I made about a year ago





I'm already working on a new Guava bow










I've ordered some Dug Fir shaft but in the mean time I made a few hunting and target arrows with some Cedar I had around










the 3D target I made is now in action :)

Some of you guys may have registered,after Manny took his hiatus from  PA to pursue other interest,but he is the Guava King.In fact he is the first i ever heard of to use this wood,for a bow.He also dispelled a couple other dogmas of "Proper" bow making,LOL

LOL, more interest in the 3D pig than the bows and arrows  ;D ;D

Dug Fir shafts came in, so soon I'll be making some new arrows :)






In the meantime I'm making good progress on my Guava bow, not quite at floor tillering, still at Scraper, 60 grit, Ferrier rasp combo stage but getting close,...I'm gone back to my more common design, oval cross section transitioning to a D on the outer limbs.

Both osage bows look great! Look forward to seeing the Guava bow when completed.  Good luck hunting with those nice bows!

Well, I've never used a vise in bowmaking and still don't, ......that might explain why it's hard to see how it works  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Got the Guava bow to a decent Floor bend so it was time for the 1st Belly Tempering session






also since I operate better when I have multiple bows going the past couple days I started a Red Oak Bow project











And I put some work on this very intimidating Vine Maple stave I have
