Looking for Pecans
« on: October 13, 2015, 12:41:18 pm »
Does anyone have any fresh pecans in the shell that they would want to trade?  I have a variety of trade goods to offer.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

re you going to grow them, Clint? You know the botanical name for wild pecans is Carya illinoensis and are indigenous to your area. Wild pecan is the largest of the hickories.

I haven't heard how the pecan crop is this year. It is about harvest time now.

I used to have a large pecan tree behind where I used to live. Once they fell they could be eaten but I found if you let them lay on the ground until a snow the nut would shrink and become sweeter. Any of Anyone have similar findings?
