Looking for wood!
« on: October 18, 2015, 12:27:08 pm »
I have built several board bows and feel comforatable enough to try my hand at making one from a stave. I ordered one off ebay not knowing much about it. The price was good enough to buy even if I cant build a bow out of it. I was hoping some of you may have some good examples of staves of any kind. Willing to travel, pay shipping or fee. I just feel better getting a piece of wood from people I know for sure have bow building skills and can pick out a nice piece of wood. Thanks in advance!

I wish you would've posted this a few days earlier.  I was in New Orleans Tuesday and I always have a couple staves with me.  If I get another run that way, I'll drop you a PM. Josh

What are your ideal stave dimensions? How long, how wide, how thick?

I will really take anything as long as I can make a bow from one piece. I can make the dimensions based on the stave size. 66 inches is ideal.
