looking gift shafts in the mouth?
« on: August 26, 2014, 10:35:40 pm »
Today I met a 66 year-old man (my age) who has made a fair number of Osage bows in various North American Indian styles, has taken deer with them, knaps his own points, makes his own arrows from shoots, and DOES NOT FREQUENT THE INTERNET. How Primitive can you get!

He has read the available literature on the subject. He showed me some very nice bows.

He also  insisted  on  giving me some river cane shafts that are straight and thoroughly dry. There is one thing though. They are around a half inch in diameter.  They are light, but really fat and stiff. What can I do with them?

Shoot them with a heavy point, or fore shafts.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?
