Hello all. These are the first points I made that I thought you might like to see. While they aren't knapped, they're natural material and quite pretty if I do say so myself. I would say they are usable as the material was a lot harder then I anticipated. They would make killer pendants as well, no pun intended.


They are ground points made from some freshwater mussel shells I found near my job site. These were the biggest/heaviest shells I've ever seen in fresh water. After doing some research, I found they are called giant floaters(don't google that. trust me.

). The thickest shell I found so far has been 3/8" and I have another 30 pounds to cut into blanks. I'll also be making some knife scales with the ones that came as a pair.
