Needing a small birch limb for school project
« on: September 18, 2015, 01:49:33 pm »
I'm needing a small birch limb for school project. About a five inch diameter by four foot in length. Birch doesn't grow in Texas.  :-[ If you can help me out please PM me.

Thank you,

I don't have any on my place. Doe's it have to be birch?
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

Fred, thank you for the inquiry. Yes sir. We read a story and it talked about birch trees. The story had pictures too. The kids asked me to show them a piece of wood off a birch tree. I explained that they don't grow in Texas, but would see what I could do.

Did you check your home depot?  They sell "birch" at mine.  Honestly, no telling if its actually birch, or generic birch/poplar/aspen

Cipriano, I have some sweet birch(Betula lenta) that is firewood size, about 18" long. I had 2 sweet birch trees come down with a big oak I was cutting for firewood. They were about 8" trunks split in half or quartered. You are welcome to a piece of it if it will work.
