Heat corrected a limb now got a little weirdness...

Hey guys, I got the little bit of twist out of my little guys bow I'm making but in the process one limb reflexed a bunch more. Not sure why. It is a vine maple bow if it matters.

So I have all sorts of questions.

The tiller was perfect before, now when strung it is way off. But then you bull it back a few times or bend that limb with your hand a little and leave it strung a while and it evens back out perfect. Literally perfect. Then I unstring it and it looks perfect again. Walk away and come back 15 mins later and it is reflexed back again.

Can anyone explain this or why it is happening? Is it a simple matter of steaming the limb back to where it was?

I am trying not to kick myself for not leaving it as it was. It wasn't bad at all....

Because its vine maple. Tension wood.

So its normal for it to start with one tiller and eventually settle in after a while to a perfect tiller?

Should I not try to steam correct it again?

I am guessing but I feel like tillering anymore would be a mistake.

the limb that is stiff. Is that the one you heated? If so just apply heat to the other end. Need some pics. Arvin

Yep it just reflexed a little more with heat. I'll try to even it back out.

I would exercise it lots after heating because of the caul reflex can be deceiving.

if it looks perfect after shooting a bit,, then leave it,, does not matter what it looks like unstrung,,

So since it goes back to good after a bit, we can tell the tiller is good right? So if I tried to reflex the other limb to match, even if I cant get it perfect, should it not speed up the process?
