I will divulge the material and location as I
don't think many folks have run across this stuff.
It's a ryholite from the Mojave desert near Barstow
California. There are tons of great cherts, jaspers and
chalcedonys out there. Some good quartz too.

I've been meaning to post a pic of the wonderful point I won from 'ghost'. Working graveyard shift has me in zombie land most of the time. In honor of him I printed out the background from his photo tutorial and tried my hand on my old iPhone. I still have to experiment w/ lighting.

He did a heck of a job knapping this and I'll proudly display it in my collection:
