Yes from tree to strips Eric. I pick out only the best staves to make my backings from, I'm quite picky about which tree I cut as well

would enjoy close up of splice... is the backing spliced too? I've noticed you like to leave the bow limbs pretty stiff coming out of fade and at the tips also... bow looks like a speed demon...sweet..gut

I weighed the arrows I was using the other day and they were just over 500 grains and that works out to a bit more than 11 GPP. Those were coming out of the bow quite fast. I'll try and get some chrono results in the next few days.
