Upper loop

When I make a string I make the upper loop as small as will nicely go over the tip. They all stretch some and I end up with a bigger loop than I want. I'm assuming that I am not twisting the loop tight enough and need to work on that but in the mean time my top loop slides halfway down the bow.   I closed one off a bit with some serving and it seems to work OK. Is there any problem with this?

Shouldn't be a problem.  Just make your top loop smaller and tighter next time.

I make them so small they just barely go over the tip and then they stretch out too big.

You can make them "to smalll" and then prestretch them using a wallhook or such.
Just slip the loop over the hook and pull hard.
When i used b-50 i always stretched my strings before using them....still do with ff,but thats just to be shure they are not slipping
