Im as big a fan of straight bows as anybody, love 'em and build a lot. The truth is? A bit of deflex makes a smoother bow. I set out to build a straight reflexed Hill bow, I ended up giving the mids a squeeze with a bar clamp adding, maybe, 1" deflex. The results are a super smooth, efficient rig. I love it.

Boo back, paduk core tapered and butt jointed at center, 1/4 sawn yew belly spliced.
the tips are guava, hard as a rock stuff. It's finished in a dead flat spray, ready to hunt. The back is my first attempt at a boo fade job. It was easy and I should have done it before now.
