I made a bedding compound of sawducst and tightbond. I didnt want hollow spots under the shell to help prevent chipping or out right breakage. Then after smooshing it down flat to form with the shell I took the shell off, and added superglue to the shell and smooshed it back.

The bedding was mostly dust with just enough glue to make it a paste. I put straight glue down first on the bow l, enough to give good adhesion of the bedding to the bow.

Anything inlayed above the surface of the wood will make the bow less spine tolerant and with your lefty bow it it will more than likely shoot to the right.

I like to inlay burly wood that I can file on to adjust the arrow flight.

This is osage burl with a lot of figure, you cant see figure with the way it is lit.

I like your inlay. Ive never seen an osage burl. Didnt know they made those. This inlay is rather high on the pass. If need be the entire pass can be dropped down 1/8" so filing adjustments can be made.

How do you get your glue line so thin on your inlay?

I prefer a soft arrow pass but if I was using something hard you made the same choice I would have. ;) Nice job on fitting it in. :)

I have inletted a bunch of parts into stock blanks while building flintlocks.

If you file a 5 degree draft in your part front to back and cut your inlay outline with a Xacto knife around the smaller inside edge you will have a very tight fit.
