So, I have a 12 inch craftsman bandsw. It had a lot of trouble breaking blades off the get go, I finally bought a higher quality belt, and talked to some guys at a wood working shop who told me ho to get the blade to the right tension. Fast forward to a few months ago, and my saw started to make a nasty noise as if something was hitting the outside cover. Turns out it was the blade.
The bottom wheel works itself forward on the shaft. the bottom pulley is tight, as is the one that the belt connects to.
The shaft wont push from the wheel out all the way, but it will push from the pulley side through the casing. Adjusting the wheel leaves slack on the pully side, and then the belt hits the casing of the saw, burns the belt and eventually throws the belt.
Any Ideas?
