Thanks guys. It always especially nice to get kudos from others practicing the same craft.

That arrow was a little fancier than the ones for my own personal use of course.

Trapper, I be happy to do a build a long the next time I make one. I haven't done one of those yet. I had planned on doing one on how to airbrush snakeskin onto fabric(way easier than you'd think), but never got around to it. Now that I have a request perhaps I'll be more motivated.

Hope she flies true for ya mullet. If you happen to get an alligator gar, you better mail me a few scales. I heard the make excellent broad heads. We have long nose gar up here but they are fairly sparse. Plus there's an endangered species, the spotted gar, that looks quite similar at a distance. It's had to play catch and release with your bow and I have no interest in finding out what kind of fine is attached to killing an endangered species. Come to think of it I think bow fishing is limited to carp, catfish, and suckers in PA. I usually stick to the carp in lakes that have population booms. Too many carp can be bad news for the other fishies.

Will do Dakota, We have all of the Gar here and none are protected. With a bow it's easier to practice Fillet and Release.

I heard gar do a number on a fillet knife. Tin snips might be better.  :)

Clean Gar with a hacksaw and tin snips.  Hack straight down behind the head to the spine then snip down the back to the tail, open it up and take out the backstraps.  My arrow is finished, I will pack it up tonight or tomorrow and put it in the mail Tuesday.  It is a Dacite broadhead on a privet shaft with turkey primaries.

Never taken a gar, but I bet that arrow would sure do a number on one. Looks great!

Got one done. I feel like I need to send another because of my delay as well. I'm getting started on it now. Long day at the pet ER with the pup yesterday. Damn Hornets!

Dog, did you send it Priority Mail? That's the only way I send anything of value anymore and only had one thing come up missing in many years of shipping.
